Now I have pictures!

I made it over to the house while it was still daylight!  So here are the most recent pics...

Here is the front of the house.  You can see the guy was out cutting the grooves even when I took this.  Our house has been done much quicker than the one down the street.  They did not do the driveway on that till way after they had doors and trim up inside.  The company that did the driveway was Scott Anderson Concrete.

Here is the porch and sidewalk.  Notice how parallel the poles are now!  Oh yeah, I could not tell if the people next door were moving out or in.  It almost looked like they were moving another relative in.

Gotta love this one!!!  This is the standard "patio"!!  All they could do was rectangular concrete shapes, and we want something better.  So we opted to hire someone next spring to do something else.  Now that I think of it, we will have to have the sprinklers altered afterwards I bet.

This is the pad out the back of the garage.  I was hoping they would pour an area for the air conditioner while they were at it.  Apparently not.

I did make it inside, and they have put down linoleum in both the mud room and the basement bathroom.   I had not noticed the mud room, (and that picture was blurry) but here is the bathroom.  You can see they sanded the joint compound since they put it down.  Basement still has ZERO paint.

Driveway!

Well, I did not get over till after 8pm, and it was too dark to take pictures (at least any that turned out).  But today they poured the driveway, porch, sidewalk (from the driveway), and both "pads" out the back doors.  I looked through the windows and did not see anything new inside.  Hopefully I can get pictures tomorrow.

Wow, a lot accomplished!

Today I planned on leaving work early, then plans changed, and I had a few minutes to spare.  Stopped by the house and tried to go in through the back garage door as usually.  Funny, something was blocking it, so I went to the front.  My first stop, the garage to see what was wrong with the door.  We had a TON of material delivered!  Doors, cabinets, trim, stairway pieces.... a whole garage full!

Here are some doors....

Cabinets and more doors....

Trim...

Not sure what these are for, as we paid for stained balusters (and I checked our selections to confirm)

Tile in the girls bathroom...

Tile in our bathroom.  They did not finish, but they made great progress for a days work.

The shower area is tiled!

Even the little wall is tiled!

We have paint! (at least the first coat)

So, they must have also brought in the "tan" paint to do the walls, as it was done.  Not sure, but I assume they painted the walls and then the ceiling because of white on the walls.  Definitely a few touch ups to do.  Looks like it was all sprayed, and there are several "scuff marks" most likely from an air hose.  Most noticeably was the corner of the pantry walls.  I can't really tell if they did more joint compound in the basement or not.  Maybe they will paint that over the next few days.

So it was getting dark, which is why the pictures are not so good.  But you get the idea.  This is the great room wall.

This is looking up toward the window at the entrance way.  You can see I had a flashlight to help with lighting.

What's been happening for the last few days...

So drywall finishing isn't very exciting, thus my lacking of any recent posts...Here are the updates...
When I stopped by Saturday and there was one guy at the house cleaning up all the sanding dust.  I bet there was an inch of dust he had swept between the front door and the stairs.  I did not go upstairs, as the guy was right there cleaning when I stopped.

Current front view.  Siding appears to be all done.  Just need paint on the trim, a porch floor and stonework.

Kitchen wall that appears all ready for paint.

Great room

This is the "closet" under the basement stairs.  They finally put the drywall up.  Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I didn't say anything.  They left it until I emailed them.

This is the basement rec. room area.  Notice the joint compound is not dry yet.  This was done on Monday 9-16-2013.

Basement closet area with fresh mud.

This is the spot right under the stairs.  I would have been OK with a 2' wall there, but they went right to the floor.  Those will be some fun angles to cut and finish with trim.

And in the garage is 35 gallons of white paint!! I am assuming that is the next step.  Both upstairs and the main floor are ready.  Basement would probably be ready tomorrow if they get it sanded.

Yesterday and today

Today they textured the ceiling upstairs and on the main floor.  More joint work as well, but nothing in the garage.  They are still working on finishing the joints.  Also, it appears they may have a different contractor fixing the poles on the porch.

No significant work today...

Stopped by today, doesn't appear much was done.  They did square up one of the porch poles, but not all of them,  There is also a note in the basement by the closet to drywall that.  The house down the street did get their stonework done, so probably my dream isn't coming true.  They would probably need to do a bit more (like pour porch floor) before they put in the stone.

Siding done? Drywall getting worked on

So they are really going to town on the drywall.  Today they have a single coat on everything (nothing yet in garage) and the next coat on some.  Not impressed with the outside work on the porch area, you will see in the picture below...

All these poles are completely crooked!  There is no way this will be acceptable.  Hopefully it is something they will move into place when they pour the porch floor.

Just a wall showing how they feather out the joint.

Great room fireplace area.  They got to the top of all the high points today.

Here is the entrance way, it now has the first coat all the way up.  Funny thing I just noticed today...  This window that is a good 10' up is an egress window!  Wonder how they expect people to get up there to open it and get out?  I would have thought in this area they would have went with a fixed window that doesn't open.

Here is a shot of the front today.  I certainly think they should be ready for the stonework any time.

Tape and seaming has begun

I am amazed at how fast drywall is going!  Here are a few pics...

This was at about 7:15 and they were still working!  We are hoping the "tan" wood gets painted white so the house "pops" a bit more.  It appears all the rest of the houses are white.

Katie in her room.

There is a piece missing here!  They also did the details like the corners.  I emailed about the piece and was told it would be fixed.  I also asked about the vent for the range hood (I don't see one) and about the closet in the basement under the stairs.  I was told all would be taken care of.

And in 2 days, there was drywall!

So, I have not been getting to the house till almost after dark.  Friday they did drywall all except our room, basement and garage.  They must have worked Saturday to finish it!  They are also still working on the siding.  They were there today (Sunday) working on it.  I am hopeful they are trying to get our outside done so when the masons get done with the house down the street, they can come do our stone work next.  Barb says I am dreaming.

This is the north & west side of the garage.

This is the house side of the garage.  I don't particularly like the drywall joints above the entrance door.  From my experience, these will be prone to cracking.

This is the great room facing the fireplace.

This is the kitchen area.  I can almost visualize it now...

Not sure what room, I think this is Katie's room upstairs.

This is the den area looking at the media closet.  You can see the outlet in the closet for any items that may need power.

This is from the den entrance looking at the stairs.  A couple things here...  You can barely see the ceiling light box at the very top center of the picture.  This appears to hang down quote a bit.  I hope that isn't a problem.  Also, I was not aware that wall had a hole in it to see the living room.  Not sure if this gets the same stair railing or what.

This is a view of the grand entrance way from up top.

This is Alyssa's room.  Note her ceiling box is recessed correctly.

This is from the master bedroom looking at the bath room and linen closet area.

Master bath area.

This is the shower are in the master bath.  This little wall will end up getting the glass surround put there.  I hope this is the right size, as it is much shorter than the house down the street.

A different angle of the kitchen area.  The corner in the middle should get a small counter area and cabinets.

And here is how the outside looks today.  There was a crew of 2 working, a guy and a lady.  Maybe that is why it is going so slow. They are framing some boards around the windows and such.  The color is a tan, lighter than the house.  I think they paint them white, but not sure.
