Countertop and more stone is the big news

Today they installed countertops, worked on stone (I hope it isn't done) and delivered some of the lighting, door knobs and other miscellaneous material.  We did get an estimate for the week of 11-11 to close.  That may work out well, since we may be able to move thanksgiving week.

Front of the house as it is today.  There are several "support stones" that are under the ledge that separates the stone and siding.  I hope this is just to hold things till it sets, as it doesn't look very good.  There is also a significant gap in spots.  Maybe they come back with some mortar to fill in.  I also noticed they covered up either the dryer vent or basement bathroom vent under the front window.

Countertop, sink and island top are all installed.

This is some of the lighting material that was delivered today.  It is about time, I need light now to take pictures with my phone!

Basement stairway from below.  Railing is installed and stained like upstairs.

Looking at dining room from living room.

Looking toward entrance way from living room.  Sure glad that isn't our door.

This is the other counter area that we have.  They must have some damaged doors they are waiting for, as 3 out of 4 are missing.  I think they may be in the garage as well.  Would be cool if all of these were glass, but I bet the ends are not.

This is what we were told in an email today:

The Allen Edwin closing department said closing is not currently scheduled.  (I thought that sounded a little odd?)  AE closing has a ballpark estimate of 11/11.
We’re moving into the mechanical trim-out stages toward the end of this week. Provided everything goes as planned with materials & so-forth carpet should be installed by 10/30.  after that the home is cleaned & we begin a “Fit-and-Finish” stage. Most all trades are back in to do touch-ups, adjustments where needed & over all double checking. We have all of the inspections to get through (there are several) & at the point the home is 100% I can call for the final appraisal.
Again, should everything fall into place perfectly, I would be calling to schedule a Home Orientation”  early next week for the meeting to be on or about 11/7  +/-.  This will become a bit more predictable come Monday or Tuesday.
It’s very difficult to project an exact closing date for anyone as each are unique in their own way but if I had to guess right now today, I’d guess closing could be toward the latter part of the week of the 11th or perhaps early the week of the 18th but again, that’s just  guess.
